Our group

The Group of Magnetic Nanomaterials belongs to the Department of Condensed Matter Physics and the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IN2UB) at the University of Barcelona. It was created in 1993 by Prof. Xavier Batlle and Prof. Amílcar Labarta. Over these years more than 40 members have contributed to the different research lines explored within the group, all of them focused on the study of the intimate correlation between the nanostructure and the physical properties of a variety of nanostructures and in particular, in magnetic and plasmonic nanostructures.

Today, the group is formed by Prof. Amílcar Labarta, Prof. Xavier Batlle, Dr. Montserrat García del Muro, Dr. Óscar Iglesias, Dr. Arantxa Fraile Rodríguez, Dr. Eric Langenberg, Dr. Carlos Moya, Dr. Mariona Escoda and Javier Rodríguez Álvarez.
